Happy New Year

Happy New year to our family and friends. May the Good Lord Bless and keep you each and everyone of you.

Today we ate lunch with Momma at my sisters house. Her husband had cooked the traditional New Year's Dinner and we all ate to much and enjoyed every bite. Momma was having a good day. We saw all our children and it was a good. We played Yahtzee and JuJu won. We love board games. We also watched a series of Northern Exposure.

We did not get a deer this year but I am sure the Lord will provide anyway. I enjoyed the time we had in the woods.

Time Marches On And Waits For No One

It has been a month since I have posted anything to my blog. It has been a hard month. The family has had so many health problems. The Lord continues to bless us inspite of ourselves. We must keep in mind the reason we celebrate the Christmas Season. We had a good Christmas even though part of our famile was half way around the world in Iraq. We did get to talk to our son-in-law on Christmas Eve. We missed him and our grandson. Our grandson's wife was in Germany with her folks for Christmas. I have been spending some time about everyday with Momma at Tressie's house. I miss her so much. She did not get very excited about Christmas. She slept through most of it. Our children and grandchildren and their famalies were so generous this year , they always are. Dan and I got a digital camera and I cain't wait to see what I can do with it. We both got clothes and several other useful things. We have talked to family and friends we have not seen or heard from in a while. That was nice. Doctarie and I went to Lumberton to see our aunt who is in the nurseing home. We took her flowers and pretty print sheets and pillow cases for the season. She loves pretty things. Happy New Year to all who read this.

Catching Up And Being Thankful

It has been three weeks since I hFont sizeave had time to put down my thoughts on paper, or on my blog. First I am so very thankful for the love of God and my family. I am thankful that my mother has outwited the grim reaper once again. God is not ready for her yet. At one point a week ago today we did not know what was going to happen. She is not out of the woods yet but is making progress. I am grateful for all the prayers everyone has prayed. Our family seems to be falling apart health wise. But when it comes to pulling together to help with momma there is no better family anywhere. At this point Momma is not able to stand up or walk. She can not help you a lot when you have to take her out of bed. She will go to my sister Tressie's when she comes home from the hospital. She will be there until she can get some strength back and I can take care of her again. I am not able to lift or pull under her . I hope that want be long until she can be home with us again. Please keep my family in your prayers. I am sending this to family as an up date on Momma.

A Good Weekend

It has bee a busy weekend. Doctarie came and stayed with momma while I ran some Arrons on Saturday. Today I took momma to home coming at her church. It was nice and we had a good time. There was lots of good food. They had remodeled their sanctuary and it was very nice. Everyone seemed glad to see her. Dan went hunting on Saturday . He did not get anything. Maybe next time. I miss not being able to go with him. When I did go it was fun just being out in the woods with nature and the wild things. I would take a good book and my crochet and read or crochet while we waited for a deer to appear. It was all so relaxing. My husband is not a trophy hunter. He hunts for meet that we eat.

Rounding Out Our Week

I can't believe it is the end of the first week and I have only posted on two days. Sometimes I can't remember what I did yesterday, let alone four days ago. But it has been a good week. Wednesday, Mittie and I got away for a couple of hours of shopping. I needed to go to Handcocks. I am going to attend a class there on November 16 & 17 to learn more about fitting patterns. Thursday morning was an eye appointment for Dan and in the afternoon a doctors follow-up visit for momma. Dan has a cataract they are watching and momma's lungs were clear. She is not shaking near as bad and she is swallowing her pills better. Friday was the Holiday Workshop at ERC, it was a slow day but I am glad I went. I had a good time. I met some nice folks. Dan stayed home and took care of momma when her helper wasn't here. My sister-in-law came and gave momma her insulin at lunchtime. Now let the weekend begin.

Catching Up

I have not posted anything for 3 days. JuJu daughter #1, and I took Momma to Wal-Mart on Saturday. Momma has to go in a wheel chair with her oxygen. She didn't by anything she just wanted to go and look. We brought Lunch home and ate here. Doctarie daughter #2, came and fixed momma medicine for the week. On Sunday Dan went to Four Oats to his family reunion and I took momma to her youngest son's birthday dinner. He was 65. We came home when she got tired and she went to bed. Mittie daughter # 3, looked out her kitchen window and saw me struggling with the wheel chair and came over to help me get momma in, the chair unloaded. Oh yes, My shelf over the washer fell off the wall and dumped everything just as we were going out the door to the party. Mittie who we call Ms. Good Wrench, fixed it for me. Momma went to sleep, we had company and it was time to get momma up for supper. Then I hit the couch until 10:00 pm. Then it was time to give momma her bedtime medicine and tuck her in. End of day so I thought. momma did not sleep I lost track of the times she called me. Nights are the hardest for he. Monday as a good day for momma. We played a game after lunch and with my help she beat me. She napped all afternoon and I tidied up the sewing room and made supper. After supper I fixed us a cup of hot chocolate and she played the game almost on her own. She slept good. she only called me once last night.
